Accelerated Math Placement

CNUSD Intermediate Schools offer an accelerated math course in both 7th and 8th grades.
  • Accelerated Math 7
  • Integrated Math 8
These courses cover 1-2 additional math units compared to the Common Core State Standards for regular math.

Students are NOT able to request advanced math placement.   Placement into the accelerated math class is determined by several data factors:
  • California State assessment level
  • District assessment levels (specifically iReady)
  • Math grade history
  • Attendance and behavior history
Regardless of placement into intermediate math at River Heights, CNUSD offers multiple pathways for accelerating to a higher level the following school year.
