Intervention Courses
Student success is our priority. Using a variety of assessment data, academic records, and/or teacher recommendations we will identify students that we feel will benefit from targeted intervention. Enrollment in an academic intervention course will replace an elective courses.

ASB Leadership - Associated Student Body (Course #719042) – Students are responsible for creating and maintaining school spirit, along with providing a fun environment for all students. ASB will host lunch time activities, spirit weeks, talent shows, school fundraisers, assemblies, recycling, and other school related programs and activities |

AVID(Course #719040/719041) - AVID is a rigorous academic program designed to prepare and guide students on a path for college. |

Yearbook (Course #719005) – This course was designed to expose students to various elements of journalism. Students will be tasked with taking digital photos, conducting interviews, managing clerical operations, advertising, composing, designing, and editing all elements of text, graphic art, and digital photography layoutsas it relates to publishing our printed news letters as well as the annual yearbook.

JUMP Leadership - Junior Upcoming Medical Professionals (Course #719055) - Students will be affiliated members of HOSA-Future Health Professionals and will focus on the core values of learning, leadership, service, and innovation while preparing for our state and local medical competitions. Develop leadership and technical skill competencies through a program of motivation, awareness, competitions and class/community projects.

School Service “Teacher/Office/Library Assistant” (Course # 719046) This course is designed for students interested in learning about general office work and procedures.

Internet and Core Computer Concepts (Course #718001) -This course will build a foundation of technical literacy. Students will become familiar with current technologies including computer fundamentals, key applications, and living in an online world. Students have the opportunity to earn an IC3 certificate which can be used on applications, resumes, and help get a job in the future. An IC3 certificate from this course will also prepare students to enter high school and complete the Microsoft Office Specialist program.

Peer Tutor (Course #719045) - This course is designed to provide 8th grade students the opportunity to work as cross-age tutors assisting Eastvale Elementary students with reading, writing, and math.

Spanish 1 (8th Grade Only) (Course #716002) - Students will learn the fundamental concepts of reading, writing, and speaking Spanish. An emphasis will be placed on learning simple phrases and communication related to daily life activities.

Video Game Design (Course #718010) – Coding & Game Design Students will learn gaming concepts while planning, designing and building amazing games, mazes, and other fun games to illustrate creativity and learning.

Exploring Medical and Healthcare Careers (Course #714012) Are you Interested in learning more about the medical pathways? The course focus is medical terminology and medical career exploration through text, hands on activities, and projects.

Literary Discussions (Course #719003) – Students will explore graphic novels, articles, and classic/dramatic literature.

Visual Arts (Course #715001) This course will introduce students to the elements and principles of design and how to implement those elements into the creative process using a variety of materials throughout the year.

Choir (Course #715201) - Students will learn and perform harmony songs from a variety of styles and genres. Students will focus on proper voice technique, stage etiquette, and song interpretation.

Beginning Guitar (7th Grade Only) (Course #715105) - Students will learn the fundamentals of music, note/rhythm notations, chords, scales, proper technique, and improvisation.

Beginning Band (Course #715101) or Intermediate Band (Course #715102) - Students will learn the fundamentals of band instruments, how to read music notation, progress through method books/supplements, and perform in front of various audiences. Prior experience is required for Intermediate Band.
